Yothaka (established 1989) is the leader in both design and manufacture of water hyacinth furniture distributed worldwide with over 200 employees and over 1000 villagers that harvest and dry the stems. They consume more than 8000 kilometres of water hyacinth in its braided form each year - this is nearly enough to stretch from the factory in Thailand to our warehouse in the UK!
Water hyacinth is a naturally green product and no harmful chemicals are used to process the plant - a great new environmentally friendly material, which also generates income for local farming families.
Since creating the very first piece of furniture in Water Hyacinth back
in 1987 the award winning design team at Yothaka have continued
to inspire unique pieces. Each year a brand new collection is launched ensuring the latest design trends and manufacturing techniques are applied. Since inspiring that first armchair Yothaka have come a long way and are now able to produce over 100 different designs in three colours most of which are held in stock locally at our warehouse!

This Yothaka collection is so versatile that it can be specified into both domestic and commercial schemes whether traditional or contemporary. All of our designs have an authentication plate and serial number
to ensure our clients are able to spot imitations easily.
Maintenance/Cleaning
Water Hyacinth is so durable that it can be vacuumed for dust or for
major spills please follow these instructions.
1.Remove all upholstery
2.Wash the furniture using a mild soap, lukewarm water and a soft cloth
3.Use a nylon brush to remove dry food or mud etc
4.A paint thinner can be used to remove tougher stains
5.Place the furniture outside or in a drying room to dry
